Appliances & Automotive

Stackable sheet made of different raw materials and for different end-products. This is the kind of extrusion where we have our roots at. Extruders for this industry sector have special designs which guarantee high throughput rates, keeping melt temperatures low and providing an energy-efficient operation. By combining them with melt pumps, we ensure precise performance in the extrusion process and also, highest product quality by manufacturing KUHNE dies and feed blocks in-house.

Often, our dies are additionally equipped with Fast-Gap options in order to cover large thickness ranges on the sheet itself. Another advantage: set-up times are reduced too. Multi-manifold-dies and multi-layer feed blocks – also equipped with fast change inserts – cover a wide range of layer configurations for optical reasons or technical requirements like barrier layers or encapsulated recycling materials.

Roll Stacks & Down Stream Equipment

On the lines themselves, flexibility and also changeover capability are constantly being optimized. All the roll stacks are made with quick change capabilities to emboss different surfaces or to extrude different raw materials. In addition, there are calibration devices on the roll stack back side, which keep the plates straight and speed up the production output. A lot of reengineering went into this part of the extrusion lines in order to increase throughput rates even further to maximize utilization per square meter of production facility while reducing the need of additional operators the same time. Automated stacking and cutting on the line minimizes manufacturing costs.
